Party Response:

Faith-based schools should have the freedom to employ staff who reflect the religious values of the families they serve. The Australian Law Reform Commission’s recommendation to remove this ability undermines religious freedom. Trumpet of Patriots is committed to restoring strong religious protections in the Sex Discrimination Act and will advocate for a Religious Discrimination Bill that truly safeguards the rights of faith-based schools.

Will your party commit to protecting free speech in Australia by not introducing laws that will further erode religious freedom and freedom of speech? 

Party Response:

Trumpet of Patriots is committed to defending free speech and will go further by working to reclaim freedoms already lost. This includes pushing to repeal vague and subjective elements of anti-discrimination, anti-vilification, and “hate speech” laws that criminalize expression and create a chilling effect on open dialogue. Restrictions on speech should apply only where there is incitement to violence. Trumpet of Patriots firmly opposes any extension of laws that limit free expression, particularly those that empower unelected officials like the e-Safety Commissioner to censor public discourse.

Does your party intend to restore the definition of a woman in the Sex Discrimination Act to be based on biological sex?  

Party Response:

Trumpet of Patriots believes that the legal redefinition of the terms “man” and “woman” has significantly eroded the rights and protections traditionally afforded to both women and girls, as well as men and boys. This shift has created confusion in law and policy, and has led to unintended consequences that undermine fairness, safety, and equal opportunity. Trumpet of Patriots is committed to restoring clear, biological definitions of sex within the Sex Discrimination Act to ensure that legal protections reflect reality and serve the needs of all Australians. This includes safeguarding single-sex spaces, preserving fairness in women’s and men’s sports, and defending opportunities that are increasingly threatened by the spread of radical gender ideology.

Does your party support the continuance of the current chaplaincy program in schools?  

Party Response:

Faith-based chaplaincy services offer essential spiritual, emotional, and moral support to students, playing a key role in promoting student wellbeing and resilience, particularly during times of personal or family crisis. These chaplains provide a trusted presence in schools and reflect the values and beliefs of many Australian families.

Trumpet of Patriots fully supports the full restoration of the original National School Chaplaincy Program, which ensured that chaplains rather than secular “wellbeing officers” were available to provide this vital support. We strongly oppose the ongoing push to strip the program of its faith-based foundations and replace chaplains with ideologically neutral roles that lack the same spiritual dimension. Schools should have the freedom to offer chaplaincy services that align with the beliefs of the communities they serve, and parents should have the confidence that their children can access genuine faith-based support if needed.

Will your party commit to reviewing the ‘Consent and Respectful Relationships Program’ to ensure gender ideology and all references to potentially harmful practices are removed?   

Party Response:

The “Consent and Respectful Relationships” program introduces harmful gender ideology into the school system. Trumpet of Patriots will call for a comprehensive review of the program to eliminate all references to gender fluidity and any promotion of risky medical interventions for children. We will also work to ensure that these programs reflect and uphold the proven benefits of heterosexual, monogamous marriage as the foundation of strong families and a stable society.

Party Response:

Trumpet of Patriots believes that education must be grounded in objective facts, not driven by political or ideological agendas. The national curriculum has become increasingly influenced by radical race theories, gender ideology, and climate alarmism, which distort rather than enlighten. Trumpet of Patriots is committed to removing this ideological bias from classrooms and restoring a balanced, fact-based approach to learning. We will ensure that students are taught to appreciate the depth and achievements of the Western tradition and to take pride in the civilisation it has helped to shape.

Will your party commit to an audit of all Australian Government departments’ DEI policies, guides, and training to ensure they are implemented based on a genuine commitment to fairness, capability and respect for all, rather than identity-based diversity policies that favour particular groups and individuals over others?  

Party Response:

Trumpet of Patriots will move to eliminate all Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs within Government Departments, which promote division and identity politics over unity and fairness. We will also push for the defunding of ACON and similar activist organisations that influence public policy with radical social agendas. Government recruitment and advancement must be based solely on merit and capability, not on race, gender, sexuality, or sexual identity.

Does your party consider that children and adolescents under 18 years of age should be allowed to take puberty blockers and cross–sex hormones, and undergo surgery to remove breasts and other sex organs?  

Party Response:

Trumpet of Patriots believes that administering puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and so-called “gender affirmation surgery” to children constitutes a form of child abuse. We support an immediate ban on these experimental and irreversible interventions, following the lead of the UK and other countries that have recognised the serious risks involved. Trumpet of Patriots also calls for a Royal Commission into Australia’s gender clinics to investigate these practices thoroughly and ensure that medical professionals who have subjected vulnerable children to such treatments are held accountable.

Party Response:

Gambling addiction has a devastating impact on individuals and families. Trumpet of Patriots fully supports all 31 recommendations of the Murphy Inquiry as necessary steps to reduce gambling-related harm and protect vulnerable Australians.

Does your party support the introduction of age verification to restrict access to pornography by children under the age of 18? 

Party Response:

Yes, Trumpet of Patriots supports the introduction of effective age verification measures to prevent children under the age of 18 from accessing online pornography. Exposure to such material at a young age is damaging to children’s development, distorts their understanding of healthy relationships, and contributes to a range of social harms including addiction, objectification, and increased sexual violence.

However, we are deeply concerned about the privacy implications of the Australian Government’s proposed Digital ID system. Trumpet of Patriots does not support using Digital ID as a tool for age verification, as it risks creating a centralised surveillance mechanism that compromises the privacy and freedoms of all Australians.

We believe it is possible to protect children from harmful content without granting the government or large tech corporations’ excessive control over personal data. Trumpet of Patriots will advocate for privacy-preserving, decentralised age verification solutions that put the protection of children first, while firmly rejecting any expansion of the surveillance state through Digital ID.

What initiatives are your party planning to implement to increase the Australian birth rate and to support parents wishing to stay at home and care for their children? 

Party Response:

Trumpet of Patriots is committed to advancing policies that strengthen marriage and support family formation. We advocate for tax reforms—such as family income splitting—and incentives that empower parents, especially mothers, to care for their children at home during the crucial early years.

We believe paid parental leave should be more generous, and childcare subsidies should follow the family, giving parents the freedom to choose home-based care if they wish. Trumpet of Patriots will also prioritise making housing affordable once again, so that families can realistically own a home on a single income. This would enable one parent—whether mother or father—to remain at home to raise children without undue financial pressure.

Previous generations thrived on a one-income household, and with the right policy settings, this can once again be achievable. We owe it to the next generation to create a society where strong families can flourish and where raising children at home is both valued and viable.

What steps does your party propose to take to reduce homelessness in Australia? 

Party Response:  

Trumpet of Patriots believes the housing crisis is being fuelled in large part by excessive levels of immigration, which places unsustainable pressure on housing demand. To ease this crisis, immigration levels must be reduced to help free up the housing supply. At the same time, land must be urgently released and unnecessary red tape removed to accelerate the construction of new homes.

Trumpet of Patriots believes in maintaining a strong and compassionate welfare safety net to support those who are homeless due to addiction, domestic violence, or other complex challenges. Local community organisations, including churches and charities, should be supported and incentivised to provide care and assistance to the homeless within their communities. No Australian should be left behind.

Additionally, Trumpet of Patriots is committed to the introduction of fast-train rail links to decentralised urban areas within 20 minutes of major CBDs presents a valuable opportunity to relieve housing pressure in inner cities and improve both affordability and access for families and individuals struggling to find stable accommodation.

Will your party push for an inquiry into the connection between a legalised or decriminalised sex industry and human sex trafficking?

Trumpet of Patriots believes that legalised prostitution does contribute to the growth of human trafficking and exploitation. Trumpet of Patriots supports a thorough inquiry into the connection between decriminalised prostitution and modern-day sex slavery.

At the same time, we will push for the adoption of the international model in some countries, which targets the demand side by criminalising those who purchase sex, while recognising that many women involved in prostitution are victims, not criminals.

This approach prioritises the protection of vulnerable women and aims to dismantle the systems that profit from their exploitation.

Yes, Trumpet of Patriots will support a full inquiry into annual spending on the “Closing the Gap” initiative, including a comprehensive audit of privately controlled entities and a rigorous evaluation of all government-funded programs.

Despite billions in spending over many years, the outcomes for vulnerable Indigenous Australians in key areas such as health, education, employment, and housing remain unacceptable. Too often, funding is absorbed by bureaucracies or activist organisations with little accountability or transparency, while those most in need see little benefit.

Trumpet of Patriots believes taxpayers deserve to know where their money is going, and, more importantly, that Indigenous communities deserve programs that genuinely deliver results. We will push for accountability, transparency, and a renewed focus on practical, measurable outcomes that empower Indigenous Australians and improve lives on the ground.

What is your party’s position on whether federal laws should be changed to permit VAD consultations via Telehealth? 

Party Response:

Trumpet of Patriots is a pro-life political party that stands firmly against euthanasia, advocating instead for compassionate, well-funded palliative care that upholds the dignity of every human life.

For this reason, Trumpet of Patriots will oppose any attempts to expand access to assisted suicide through Telehealth or other remote means. End-of-life care should focus on providing comfort, support, and genuine care, not hastening death.

What plans does your party have for the legalisation of cannabis or other illicit drugs? 

Party Response:

Trumpet of Patriots firmly opposes any efforts to legalise cannabis or other illicit drugs. Legalising these substances inevitably leads to higher rates of use, addiction, and broader social harm.

We believe in promoting healthy communities and protecting individuals, especially young people, from the damaging effects of drug culture.

Given that currently, parents cannot access their 14–17-year-old children’s My Health Record unless the child consents, does your party propose to restore parental rights to access their children’s records, except in exceptional circumstances?  

Party Response:

Yes, Trumpet of Patriots believes that parents have a fundamental right to be involved in their children’s health and wellbeing, especially during their formative teenage years. We support restoring parental access to the My Health Record of children aged 14 to 17, except in clearly defined exceptional circumstances—such as cases involving proven abuse or serious risk to the child’s safety.

It is deeply concerning that the current system can exclude parents from critical health decisions while allowing minors to access life-altering treatments without parental knowledge or consent. Trumpet of Patriots will advocate for reforms that respect the role of parents as primary caregivers and decision-makers, ensuring families are not sidelined by ideologically driven policies.

Given the current levels of poverty and humanitarian need around the world, and the concern regarding aid budget being used ideologically, does your party plan to increase foreign aid as a percentage of the Federal Budget to meet desperate international needs, targeting it where it’s practically required, ensuring it’s not influenced by ideology?    

Party Response:

Trumpet of Patriots recognises the severe humanitarian needs around the world and supports providing targeted foreign aid that delivers real, practical assistance to those most in need. However, we are deeply concerned that much of Australia’s current aid spending is being directed by ideological agendas rather than genuine humanitarian priorities.

Our priority is to ensure that every dollar of foreign aid is used effectively, transparently, and free from ideological influence. While we are open to increasing foreign aid as a percentage of the Federal Budget, this must only occur once rigorous accountability mechanisms are in place to ensure that funds are going directly to food, clean water, medical care, disaster relief, and support for persecuted and vulnerable communities.

Trumpet of Patriots will push for a foreign aid program that reflects Australian values, compassion, practicality, and integrity, not political activism or globalist agendas.
