Party Response:

One Nation leader Senator Pauline Hanson has been Australia’s foremost champion for freedom of speech for the past 30 years. One Nation will never introduce laws that restrict freedom of speech or religion, and in 2024 moved a Parliamentary inquiry (ultimately blocked by Labor and the Greens) to examine the implications of enshrining the right to free speech in the Constitution.

Party Response:

One Nation intends to restore the definition of men and women in the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 to reflect biological reality. One Nation introduced a bill to this effect in September last year although it was ultimately defeated with Labor, the Greens and some cross benchers opposing it.

Party Response:

A key One Nation policy for the 2025 Federal election is enabling couples with dependent children to split incomes and file joint tax returns. This will save these families thousands of dollars a year in tax and better enable one partner to stay at home with children. For example: in a couple where one partner earns $120,000 and the other earns nothing the current tax burden is $29,467; under One Nation’s policy the couple would split the income to $60,000 each, reducing the tax burden by $9533.

One Nation’s comprehensive housing policy focuses on substantially lowering immigration (capping net overseas migration at 130,000) to reduce housing demand, permanently banning foreign ownership of residential property to increase housing supply (a policy now partially copied by the major parties), improving affordability by enabling superannuation funds to invest some of an individual’s super in the individual’s primary residence, and improving affordability by reducing the government taxes, fees, duties and charges that make up to 44% of the cost of a new home. One Nation’s policy also includes exempting building materials from the GST for five years for new homes up to a value of $1 million.

One Nation anticipates savings up to $12.5 billion a year.

One Nation supports parental rights and will support the restoration of parents’ access to their children’s medical records except in circumstances where it is clearly inappropriate, such as in the case of an unfit parent.
